9-11 !!
A Day We Wont Forget!

As I sit here and watch the news unfold, my heart and prayers go out to all that is involved in this very sad day. We've lost many a life, in the World Trade Center, Pentagon and Pittsburgh Tragedies, the Planes, and also Fireman and Police that were there to help assist those injured. My sincere sympathy to anyone affected by the recent tragedy.

My heart breaks as I think of the people who died and those who are trapped in the rubble. Tears fill my eyes as I think of all the people who were forced to witness the hideous devastation caused by the insane actions of terrorists, who in a very short time have changed the way we, as Americans think and feel forever.

We've often sat back and looked at news clips from other countries and have seen the effect of war on the faces of others. But today, we see that on our own faces; our family, friends, in the faces of New York and in our hearts.

I have to admit I don't follow world news like I should, there's so much I just don't understand, much like the Viet Nam era, that was so confussing for most of us.
I think our pilots should be locked in the cockpits, our security needs to be stepped up at all airports. I know it's easy for us to sit back and judge, and say we need to do this or that, when I'm sure there's a lot more being done than we really know. I was also appalled at the news reports of dancing in the streets and the burning of our flag in the West Bank city of Nablus, while thousands of Palestinians celebrated, chanting ''God is Great'' and handing out candy.......
Then when I saw and heard "God Bless America" being sung on the steps of the White House, I felt such pride: I cried, the goose bumps ran down my back, so many mixed emotions as I watched the news unfold.

I guess it hit me really hard today, not only seeing the devastation on the news, but about 9:15 this morning I recieved a very strange phone call. I couldn't understand this man. He was talking in a foreign language. I asked him who he wanted, and that I couldn't understand him, he keep talking, said something about calling from India, then keep saying "hello". I, for some reason grabbed my recorder and tried to record the call. I was shaking all over. After a while he said something about a bomb, I said "Oh My God" and he ended the call.

I wasn't sure what to do, but after talking to several people, I turned the tape over to the FBI.

My only real message here is; Think about our loved ones,
call them, and tell them you love 'em.
(we never know what tomorrow will bring.)
Think about those who lost family today:
    Pray for our Goverenment:
And remember all our Police, Fireman, Our Military and all the men and woman as they do their job over the next several days, weeks, and even months.

My heart and prayers to everyone tonight as we all try to deal with is tragedy.

Sept.19: I know we're all trying to deal with what has happened. I for one wentt fishing Sunday, to get away from the TV and the sad news of not finding survivors. I thought it would help me for a while, and yes in many ways it did, but as I looked out as the water, with the sun coming up and saw God's vast beauty, I cried even more. How could it be so peaceful there and yet my thoughts went back to New York.

"They" tell us to try to get back to "normal". What is normal now? And we will ever be the same? NO!!. I wont!

I will not ever go in a high rise, without my thoughts returning to Sept.11th. I will not see a flag, and NOT think of Sept. 11th. I will not see a plane in the sky, and not think of Sept. 11th. I will not go to bed at night and NOT think of and say a prayer for what happened to all of us on Sept.11th!

Watching the news and seeing everyone open their hearts and pockets is heart warming in this time of such sorrow.
We have stood together though all of this and I pray that, that UNITY stays. But how can any of us return to what we were?
WE will never be the same again.
But maybe, we'll all be a little better; smile at our neighbors more, open a door for a stranger, think about others before we say hurtful things, and mend some broken bridges before it's too late!
All my love and thoughts, Beth
