My brother and I went to the store and prepared for the storm up there. He is right on Toledo Bend and we watched the wind blow across the lake and at times it looked more like the beach then the lake. We had lots of rain and wind there and lost lights and water Sat. so we came home Sunday morning.
The drive home wasn't as bad as driving home after Rita, but my heart was still in my stomach seeing the damage and not knowing what I was facing. We were able to watch most of the storm at my brothers, till we lost power, then were just lost to what was happening. And even watching the news there wasnt much on the Beaumont area.(SIGH)
Thank Goodness my son had made it to my brothers Friday after noon to be with me. He followed me home and has stayed with me and helped me work in the yard and on the house. I was very very blessed not having much damage to my house, but the yard was a different matter. Tree limbs and debris were every where and even a neighbors trampoline was in my back yard along with chairs and tin from heaven only knows where.
I know I'm very lucky, but still going through this again and again has taken a toll on me. Then I look around me and know how lucky I was. Then worry about all of YOU and what you must be going though too.
Please know that I am here, If you need to talk, cry or just need to have a cup of coffee. We hope it wont be long before the lights are back on but I can still make coffee on the stove :-)<
I'm going to post a lot of pictures I have taken of my yard and things around Bmt. I haven't gotten out like I did after Rita but stil have a few pictures I have taken. PLEASE if you have pictures of your house or around our area you want posted send them to me and I will try my best to get them on the page. Please remember to send them as JPG's or GIFS and not to large, I am still on dial up and it take for ever to upload them..
