Great website! This may seem a bit lame, but here goes anyway. I attended Eugene Field Elementary through the 4th grade, 70-74, and would like to see old friends now grown up like David Owens (1980 probably) and Andy Redman and others. Sadly, when my family moved back to Beaumont in 1977, they chose to live on the West side and I went to Forest Park. We moved away again in 1979, so I did not graduate from FP. However, I did prepare the Forest Park Wikipedia site. By the way, I moved to Abilene Texas, Cooper High, and our biggest rival for the district crown was Odessa Permian. I sure was glad to see French played them in the state game in the 80s and would not let them prevail! Also, the book about PNG football is a great resource for early French High football "Down Trails of Victory"

It has been along time since me and many others graduated from this wonderful institution. I have some many fond memories of the faculty, staff, and students. Once a month I always reflect back on one of many joys I had in my life, attending French H.S. I always looked forward to going to school where the atmospher was full of love and learning. I had many friend, some cool, some nerdy, and some wanna be gansta. None the less, they were true friends then and still remain friends today, you know who you are...I loved all my teachers, but I did have some favorites. Remember the english teacher Mrs. Daniels...She thought me it was more to life than just falling a sleep in class. Mr. Cooper, who would laugh and play with you and flunk you at the same time. He thought me and still teaches me today the value of an education and that you are never to old to go to college. Let me not for get everyones favorite, Mrs. Duriso. She was loved and still loved by us all. She treated everyone of her students with respect and helped you to gain a since of pride in yourself. Mrs. Nixon who knew how to jerk my chain. Telling me I was dumb in order for me to go from making a 'f' to a 'b'. That's right a 'b', for pete sake, it was science, lol....I can't forget Coach Smiley who would sit in class with a mirror and pull wild hairs out of his nose, lol...To my dance group the Key Stone Poppers...To ROTC who used to rock the football games before kick off. To Craig Mills and our awesome drummers. To all the athletes and coaches. To the sexy cheerleaders and buffalo bells. To the teaching staff, principal, secretaries. To the janitors and grounds crew. If I forgot u, to you to. To my entire class of 1982, thanks for the memories... Lamar 2009 Graduate. Spring '07 Line: Kreated 2 Be Hated Kappa Alpha Psi, Yo Nupes!!!!

After graduation I got a degree in education from Lamar and taught at Briargate Elementary School in Missouri City, TX (grades 2 & 5) for 9 years. I then moved to Austin and have worked for Freescale Semiconductor (formerly Motorola Semiconductor) for the past 12 years. I never married and have no kids. I still spend my time traveling and seeing live music whenever possible. I also enjoy spending time with my family, who all live here in Austin now.

I loved your site and I am hoping someone can help me. I am trying to locate the former Ms. Susan Wall and Ms. Susan Willis. Susan Wall graduated in 69 and I think Susan Willis graduated in 70. If anyone knows them, please have them contact me. To me, it is very important.

I married a wonderful man from Groves 11 years ago. We
have two great children a girl named Morgan and a boy named Mason.
About 5 years ago we moved to a small town outside of Austin called Cedar
Park. We still go back home about 2 times a year to see family and
friends. My husband, Micah has his own business as a annuity broker and I
work for a Mortgage company. I have been very blessed to find a
company who has set me up to work out of my home. Thanks to my brother Bill
Kessler for telling me about the website. It has been wonderful
reading about everyone. The memories have been great. To the creators of
the website thanks for taking the time to create such a fantastic site.

U guys probably won't remember me. I was nothing but
100lbs. of skin & bone, 20lbs. of afro, and extreeeemely shy....(Smile)
Anyway...back in Beaumont, married 4 going on 10 years raising a family
of 2 boys, and 1 girl. after graduating I went directly N2 the "School
of Hard Nox"..(i.e.: L.A. Riots, Malibu Fires and Mudslides,
Earthquakes, etc.) all from behind a video camera working for CBS Network News
out of Los Angeles. Finally retired from the news biz and came home 2
start over. After 20 years of being your own company...it's hard 2 work 4
someone else. So, I'm back 2 shooting video utilizing every major city
within a 6.5 hour radius of "Boremont". Business isn't great, but it's
growing fast. This morning, I was steered to this site by an old
classmate and I've spent the entire day just hanging out and reminising about
old times, old flames, old teachers, and old songs...U know how it
goes. The names Ruby, Slaughter, Cantu, Turner, Duriso, etc., were al!
l names of favorite teachers that I considered more friends than
teachers. This site is great. To the webmaster of this site, I commend U.

What I remember most about my French High class was that we as a class broke a lot of the myths about racial barriers. Our class had an
opportunity to not just spend 4 years of HS together but junior high as well.
I entered 6th grade when the desegration law was enforced. The first
few years were scary but afterwards it was all worth it!
