I appreciate all the work done on this web site. It is great to be able to reconnect with a very special part of my life. I was surprised and saddened to read the class of "56 Memorial page. So many of my
classmates passed on. I am still going strong here in Austin,
however, and would love to hear from old French High School pals. My favorite
memories of FHS are Miss Cunningham, working on
the anual,and dancing at the Harvest Club.

Left Bmt. after 19 years at Helena Lab. Moved to Burkeville, Texas in 1993. My husband Joe and I are retired and love living in the country. I have two children a girl Vicki and son Brandon and 4 grandchildren. My special memory is school dances as I loved to dance. Left French in 1956 and got married. I don't have a computer but my sister Aline has one and she can receive e-mails.

Great days full of memories of the Pig Stand, Carnations, bonfires, snakedances around the bonfire, full skirts with lots of petticoats, bobby socks and loafers, your boy friend's ring on a chain around your neck, bright red lipstick and just fun memories. My favorite person was Mr. Hybarger, a great principal and teachers were Mrs. Dunn, Miss Halbouty, Mr. Meynig and Mrs. Brown.They all had an influence in my becoming a teacher.

Thanks for the site. It's been a long time since my FHS days. I am a 1956 graduate and widow of a 1957 graduate, Joe Mazzola, Am retired and living the good life in the country surrounded by my children and their families. What can you say about the 50's, they were great, Such innocence compared to today. Keep up the good work this site was much needed.

graduation. I have one son, Kevin, who lives in Dallas and 3 beautiful grandchildren. I retired as principal
of Hamshire-Fannett Elementary and
presently work for the Texas State
Commission For The Blind. Remember the fun we had putting on the Follies, cruising the Pig Stand on Calder Ave. and
bowing to Big Bill? How about starting the Buffalo Belles, Mr. Allen, the band director, Mardi Gras Festival, going to Mexico with Zulma Smith, the Foreign Language teacher? Times then were fun and good! Let me hear from all my old

I have so many special memories of French High. Some of the sweetest people I know went to school there. It sounds like the class of'67 did the same things as the class of '56. I have fond memories of Coach Lindsey and Mrs. Halbouty. They inspired me to be a teacher. I just received Teacher of the Year award in the elementary school where I teach fourth grade English/Reading. I will retire in Dec.,1999 and move to Colorado to be near my dad. I have four sons and four granddaughters. My oldest son, Perry Wayne dies last August. He had two kidney transplants. Both times his brothers were donors. We are a very close family as you can see from the gifts of love. I would love to hear from some of my old classmates.
