Our youngest Kelsey is in college at Midwestern State where I also work. Have lived here since 72 after Larry got an early release from the Army. This web site is wonderful, thanks so much for all the hard work!!

Hi to everyone. I would love to hear from all. Send me an email and I will answer it, but let me know you are from dear old French High School. I have one son and he is 29 years old. He is single, so I am not a grandma yet. Let me know when any events are going to happen and I will do my best to go. I would love to see everyone

Comments: Donna Tyler and I married in 1969 and have lived in the Dallas area since completing college at the Univ of Houston in 1971. We have 4 children (Molly, a graduate of Brigham Young Univ, is a homemaker and lives with family in Virginia Beach; Scott, a graduate of Texas A&M Commerce, is a college soccer coach and lives with family near Abilene; Susan, a graduate of Brigham Young Univ, is a homemaker and lives with family near St Louis; and Dan, a college senior at OU, is newly married and lives in Norman, OK) and 8 grandchildren. Donna and I are both still working and will probably not retire for several more years. Donna was a homemaker and school teacher for many years, and now is a regional employment specialist for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am the Emergency Management Coordinator for the City of Garland , TX, after being a firefighter/paramedic for 16 years with the City, and an accountant for Sun Oil Company before that. We have recently acquired a farm near Canton , TX and hope to complete our move out there this summer. Donna’s sister, Peggy (FHS-1965), is an Asst School Superintendent in up-state NY, and Donna’s mother, Peggy Tyler, who taught at Eugene Field Elem for many years, spends her time between a residence in NY State and will be soon moving closer to us after retirement years spent in the San Antonio area. My sister, Sharon and her husband, Mike Dent (FHS-1971) have recently taken a Methodist Church assignment in Denver, Co. We plan to make the upcoming reunion and look forward to seeing everyone. Please contact us thru my email – dtoups@ci.garland.tx.us Any of you remember Scout Troop 65 with Joe Perry and sons, Gary and Ricky Scott, Charlie Helpinstill, Janice Blaylock’s brother, and a bunch of others who went to FHS and N End Methodist Church? Thanks for taking care of this website

Comments: After graduating from Lamar and 3 years on the Beaumont Police Department, I moved to Colorado and spent 21 years with the Lakewood Police Department. Retired from Lakewood in '95 and went to the Colorado Attorney General's Office as an investigator working on capital murder cases. Retired again and now I'm a criminal investigator with the Arapahoe County District Attorney's Office. I met Dawne on April 1,1983 and we got married on May 14,1983. She's a flight attendant for United Airlines and flies international trips out of Chicago. We have a son, Taylor, who's 21 and attending college in Denver (He's the reason I'm STILL working). We really enjoy our travel benefits, which included a hiking tour in Italy for Dawne's 50th birthday. We just returned from Hawaii, where we rented Harley's and spent a day riding around Oahu. We both have bikes and enjoy riding on weekends with friends. I've really enjoyed reading about fellow classmates and I'm looking forward to this year's class of '67's 40th reunion. I have many fond memories of FHS and the mid to late '60's, including the pep rallies on Friday mornings, 11th St. and the College St circle, burgers and malts at Carnation, Crystal Beach on Sunday afternoons, Senior Prom and the Boogie Kings, and TP'ing Diane Wilson's house with David Theobald and Larry Ward (I got grounded 2 weeks for that one!) Thanks again to Beth for taking this on. GREAT job and looking forward to June 30th!!

Comments: My husband Alan Graham and I (and our dog Vito) live in Palm Harbor , Florida, which is about halfway up the west coast of Florida. It gets very hot and very humid, a lot like Beaumont. Hurricanes USUALLY miss us. I met my husband in the mid 80s in Los Angeles at my church and we married in 1991. No kids, but we helped to raise a nephew who is in the Air Force now. Alan is in the product development side of title reconveyance, which is all about that piece of paper you get when you pay off your mortgage. Funny how little things become big things. Mrs. Alford, 10th grade English? Had us take ten sentences and make them into one sentence, and then visa versa? I REALLY liked that. I ended up building on those skills. I spent years as a secretary/word processor, but then I got into editing books, then designing them, then taking them from a twinkle in someone's eye all the way to the printer, then designing all the marketing materials. I created a design and publishing services business in 1994, which is what I do now. On a sadder note, for those who knew Susan, my older sister, we lost her in 2002 to cancer. On a happier note, her daughter Heather lives outside of Denver , and as of Thanksgiving 2007 is about to have her third baby. Life goes on...

OK Class of 1967. Did you all die, or just get old! I never saw an announcement for the 35th anniversary, and now have to wait until 2007 for the 40th. What a shame. If the reunion committee needs help, just ASK! Email me if you want to have a reunion!!!What the heck happenned to the Class of '67 - You all die?! I have looked for a year for the 35th reunion announcement. Never saw it. If someone knows about it (or the 40th) please let me know. I am probably on the outs having sent the 25th reunion squad a letter asking for an expanded agenda, such as a school tour, bluejean social, and picnic. See ya!

I am currently residing in the beautiful English countryside in a small village near the Welsh border. My husband Lance and I, along with our son Blake (13), moved from Atlanta to England in 1993 to start our own company, Dentmaster U.K., Ltd. It was successful beyond our expectations and has given us the opportunity to travel and live the good life. I try to get back over to visit with my family in the Houston area a few times a year. Looking back on my years at French, I wish I hadn't been such a daydreamer. Mrs. Halbouty was the only teacher that could bring me back to reality. Ha! Until I can establish my own e-mail address in England, anyone can contact me through my sister's address.

They all were - now that I am old enough to appreciate them. I am looking forward to the next reunion. All of you have done so many wonderful things with your lives. You must be proud, I am proud of you and to be part of such a sucessful class. Good luck in all that you do and God bless each and everyone of you

Comments: (updated: Feb 2010) There have been a lot of changes in my life since I last signed the guestbook in 1999. I have 2 beautiful daughters and 1 beautiful step-daughter. I have been married to my husband Eddie for 27 years and we have 7 grandchildren. Our oldest Granddaughter, Breana rides English (Hunter/Jumper) and competes. She has come in Reserve Champion for 2 consecutive years with the Greater Houston Hunter/Jumper Association. Because of her we now own 3 horses that she has trained. Between the husband, house, horses and grandkids, I stay very busy. The only two FHS alumni I stay in contact with are Katheryn Husband Mevers - Class of 1965 and my very best friend of 45 years - Judy Scroggs Wood - Class of 1967. I haven't been to any FHS reunions/bonfires at FHS in a few years and wasn't sure if they were still having them. Really enjoy the websites for FHS--keep up the good work! Love reading about what is going on in everyones lives since we all left FHS.

( 1999 ) I am the mother of 2 beautiful daughters, and grandmother to 2 gorgeous grand-children. I am married to a wonderful man who insisted a couple of years ago that I retire from my job as an executive secretary and stay home to spoil him. So far, so good. He's happy and so am I! I have changed a lot in the last 32 years (hopefully for the better!). No gray hair yet and the good Lord willing, not for many years to come! My best friend in high school, Judy Scroggs Wood is still my best friend. She and I have remained close and always enjoy reminiscing about our high school years. My favorite teacher was Mrs. Callahan. She was always so sweet! I don't think I ever heard her raise her voice to a single student! Maribeth you have done a fabulous job on this web page. Thanks to you, French High School will live on in the hearts its former students for many years to come. You can be assured that I will be one of many who will spread the word about all the work you have done to keep these wonderful memories alive!

Comments: I have been married to Merrill Smith (class of 1962) for 29 years this October. We have 2 sons, both married. We are expecting our first grandchild in July. We moved to this area of Texas 14 years ago and 3 years ago decided to move to the Cradle of Texas Freedom when my husband retired from Amoco Production Company. We enjoy the rural life here in Goliad County and look forward to many more years here in this beautiful part of Texas. I attended our 30 year reunion last year and enjoyed seeing everyone who was there. I saw some who had not been able to attend previous reunions and we caught up on what we had been doing all those years. I look forward to visiting your website often and hope to find some people I haven't even remembered in years. I saw where Frieda Sterling had signed and did not know she was in Silsbee. I have a sister that lives in Lumberton and maybe I will look Frieda up one day when I am there. Thanks for doing this.

Comments: I was a member of the Buffalo Belles, Future Teachers, and the Art Club while at FHS; (remember those ceremic buffaloes?) All three came in handy later after graduation from Lamar in 1978. I married David Bishop (FHS '66) in 1970. We were blessed with David Alan Jr. in 1971 and Kristi in 1977. I started teaching Art at FHS in 1978, next door to Minnie McMillan and in the same room where I had taken art from Dorothy Dunn/Rayburn. David and I divorced in 1981 and I took over sponsorship of the Belles that same year from Dorothy Cunningham, and stayed with them to the bitter end in 1986. I guess the most memorable moments were from those football games on the way to the state playoffs in 1984 - what a ride! We tied Odessa Permian 21-21! Talk about a Cinderella Team - we wrote the book - right Coach Shaver?!! I stayed with the changes from FHS to Central 9th Grade Center, then moved here to the farm in 1992 where my grandparents and uncle raised cotton, and where I spent most of my growing-up summers. This is where Mom's family is from. I'm currently teaching 6th Grade Science at the Intermediate school in the Frenship District, outside of Lubbock. I thought it was appropriate - the high school here is FHS! David Alan Jr is now a computer tech. for Humble ISD and Kristi is a Junior pre-med major at Texas Tech and both are doing great - they both continue to amaze me and make me so proud! Mother(she taught homemaking at FHS) and Daddy continue to spend their winters in Beaumont and summers in Pagosa Springs, Colo. She is active in the FHS Former Faculty get-togethers. I'm CERTAIN many of the names in this guest book have been the topic of conversations at their monthly meetings! It's great to see so many X's showing up on-line; and what a great way to find each other! Let's keep in touch!

My daughter will graduate from college in May 1999 with a BA in Primary Education. My Husband works for Timberline Insurance and because of his success I have never had to work outside the home. I have had a full life with many interesting curves. I am looking forward to becoming a grandmother someday. I am very excited about the 31 year reunion since I was unable to attend the 10 or 20 year reunion. My involvement in the reunion has given me the oppurtunity to visit with many 1968 graduates.
