Looking forward to the next reunion....
I am from the class of 65. My wife and have retired finally for the third time and live on our small farm in Huntsvile, Tx. I try to stay in touch with Suzanne Patrick as much as I can. I know she has now moved but hopefull she and her husband will be back. I am really looking forward to us having "HOPEFULLY" our 50th in a couple of years. I retired from DuPont after 37 years as a Production Supv. and we moved to Huntsville where an old friend talked me into going to work for the state prison system in the facilities dept. Boy was that an experience. When I left them, another friend, talked me into coming out of retirement again to set up a new German companies Safety, Health, Environmental and facilities maintenance programs. After 18 months of doing that and getting the programs going, I said so long and my wonderful wife and I went to Ireland for two weeks ofr our anniversary. I hope this pages gets me back in touch with some my old friends.

I left Beaumont after graduation to go to Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches where I met my husband, Billy, where else but in the Lumberjack band. He played French horn; I played flute. It took us 5 years to get through college because we married in 1967 and had our first child, Stephanie in 1969. He got a position as band director in Mt. Pleasant in 1970 and have been here ever since. In addition to our daughter we adopted a son, Chuck, in 1976. He's a DPS trooper here, so no speeding in our family. LOL! We also have a grandson, Blake, who is a sophomore in college, praying about going into the music ministry. I retired in 2008 after 38 years of teaching elementary school. I still substitute some just to keep in touch with the kids. Sorry I missed the last reunion. I hope to be able to come to the next one. I enjoy reading everyone's posts about the "good old days".

It has been a long time since all those pep rallies!
My favorite classes were math, band and drafting (which was taught by my father, Leon Thompson. I especially remember practicing marches, while fighting mosquitoes, for the football games. I also enjoyed biology and hated English from Halbouty. I think that I could have learned grammar without being terrorized or watching others being terrorized. I moved away from Beaumont when I graduated from Lamar State College of Technology and got married in 1968. I was so eager to go to college, I started Lamar the Monday after Sunday FHS graduation. I went most summers so that I could finish early. My career was enriched as a teacher in Galveston, Fort Worth and Beaumont. I moved back to Beaumont with my young family in the late 70's. We were blessed with 2 red headed sons, but in 1980 I divorced my husband. I moved away in the late 80's, but moved back again and completed second degree in Psychology. Subsequently, I enjoyed working at Lamar University. Later, I moved to Houston, where one of my two sons lived; the other lived in Austin. My son in Houston now lives about three blocks from me and he and his wife have 2 daughters; my son and his wife, who in Austin, has a son due in November. My older son earned a degree in physics from Southwest University in San Marcus and his wife has a masters degree in experimental psychology. Currently, he is a project engineer for a tech company, and his wife, who has worked as a student placement coordinator, currently is preparing for the arrival of their new baby. My younger son earned a degree in economics and a minor in Russian Studies from the University of Houston, while his wife has a bio-chemistry degree. He recently resigned from Baylor College of Medicine to pursue a very profitable job as a programmer in the private sector. His wife works in human resources for a gas company. I am now retired and my father lives with me. Retirement has been a busy time, as we are rebuilding a beach house after the Ike storm, restoring our Beaumont family home, and making home improvements at my own home. When we are not doing this, we spend time with family. As soon as our rebuilding/remodeling projects are completed, we plan to spend more time traveling.

I attended French High School in 1963. My maiden name was Parrish. My family family moved back to our home town of Camden, Arkansas and I graduated with many of the students that I started to school with. I had an older brother, Rick, who played football in 63 and I was a Sophmore beauty that year (that really was a long time ago....). I have often wondered about the friends that I lost contact with from Beaumont. Would love to reconnect again. So glad I found this web page through Ronny Eller. If anyone remembers me, please let me hear from you.

(updated: April 2011)
Class of '65 had our 45th last year, I couldn't believe how young everyone looked. It was great catching up with old friends and making new ones. I recommend everyone try to go to their reunions even if you didn't think you "fit in" when you were in high school. We all fit in now, for one thing "we are just happy to be alive!!", and another is time is an equalizer. I just found out about the once a month get togethers, I plan on being there if I can.
I also wanted to say that I too was gone from the area for a long time. Somehow we come home don't we. I lived in Houston, Austin, Waco, Dallas and Baltimore & Virginia Beach. I love everywhere I lived, but there is nothing like reconnecting with your past and seeing those you have "history" with. I worked in Wash D C when I was in Baltimore and loved being able to visit the history of our country. OK, I'm thru now. Connie

Left Beaumont the night of graduation and thought I would never return. I went to Texas A & M for 2 years and then Lamar, graduating in 1969 and then an MBA in 1970. I have worked for Japanese companies most of my working career. In 1993 I started Ameritech Machine Tools, which is an importer of machine tools. Business has been good and in 1996 opened an office in Chicago to go with my office in Los Angeles. Retired as a LTC in 2008 from the National Guard. Married for 31 years and 2 boys and 1 grandchild. Life has been good and I will probably work forever.

I have signed on with "Classmates" several times. I am not impressed with their product, or service, or whatever one wants to call it. I am delighted that there is a French High School Web Site. I will try to visit often and encourage other friends and classmated to do so also. Maybe my twin sister will drop in and say "Hello" as well.
Keep up the good work. Sincerely......Ted Jorden

High School was the most fun I have had in my whole life. I have kept many of my high school friends. We had a group of us that hung out together. Not much boyfriend-girlfriend stuff, just friends with the group. It was so sad to graduate and move on. My favorite teacher was Mr. Ellis. I love photography class. I still have many of my high school friends now, we grew old together. We have shared getting married, having kids, graduations of kids, death of my daughter, grandkids. It has been a wonderful life. Now we are sharing retirement and getting ready for nursing homes. Thank you French High School for the memories.
