Comments: Retired from ExxonMobil in March 2008 after almost 35 years. My wife and I bought a ranch in 2004 and that is where we currently reside. Since retirement I attended welding school in Kerrville, TX and I spend most of my time in my workshop. We are also new in the Wildlife Management Practices and enjoy feeding the deer and exotics in the front yard. It's our little piece of heaven. I enjoyed looking at the FHS website. It sure brought back a lot of memories.

Comments: Hello to everyone, great website and super way to stay in touch. Want to hear a real hoot??? I probably have the distinction of being the oldest college graduate from the class of ?71. In December of 2007, at the tender age of 55, I got my BBA in general business from TAMU-Texarkana. After getting both my daughters thru Central Arkansas with degrees and one working on a doctorate at Washington University in St. Louis, I went back and finished. Anyway, my oldest, Carly, is around 25, I think, is married and living in Conway, Arkansas. My youngest daughter, Jessica, is 24 and is the grad student in St. Louis. Elaine (Class of ?74), my wife of over 30 years, which should qualify her for sainthood, is doing great and looking forward to the future. Still at Sears but may have a change of address this year. Comments: Never was able to attend any reunions but wondered about my classmates. I have been in the Pacific NW since 1978. I moved up here and raised my daughter Anna alone for the most part, have enjoyed a varied carreer in the arts and have had my own Design and Artistic Interiors business for over 15 years. Before that worked in advertising, floral design, cooked in a deli, you name it...danced on a street corner for Texaco as a clown (1972 in Houston suburb during college years). I love it up here, but visit my family in Austin about every other year. I'm currently remodelling a home with my boyfriend and our 3 dogs and 1 cat...love life and have found it just keeps getting better.....in spite of the aches and pains! I have 2 adorable teenage grandchildren (Ok, they're my daughter's step children, but all I expect to have, and they are so much fun to be around) Hope you are all well and happy wherever you have landed.

Comments: I remember the football players playing a joke on one of the jocks, Darell Shepherd, picking his little Subaru up and putting it inside the hall at the back of the school after a football practice. I have fond memories of Bubba Smith's Mom teaching Home-Ec..and the volley ball teams. I left French High School at the end of my Freshman year, and left behind many good friends and fond memories. Comments: I work for Helena Labs of Beaumont as a Field Service Engineer in the Carolinas. I have fond memories of growing up in Southeast Texas and in the northend part of Beaumont. It is obvious how much has changed but at least Beaumont has not had a growth explosion like many places such as Charlotte. Beaumont still has some of that small town, southern, friendly charm. High school was not my favorite period of life, however looking back it was a sweet, relatively innocent time. Or is that a nostalgic coloring of the past? Anyway,I am glad that you have this website as a reminder of what French High means to many of us. Thanks

Two children Jennifer 20, Jimmy 15 Still in the area after consulting for 12 years, working at GSU (before Entergy) and am currently at WESTVACO Evadale Mill. Many memories of school days most memorable is the FHS Band. Both of our kids are/were in the Lumberton Mighty Raider Band.

Comments: I regret losing touch with high school friends. It seems like we all just drifted apart. Graduated Lamar in 1974, degree in French, minor in Criminal Justice--what on earth was I thinking? In the real world, I'm an electrologist. In my spare time, I'm nature girl--camping, hiking, flat water kayaking and bird watching. Spent two weeks in Mexico as volunteer doing research on habitat of endangered wild cats. If you remember me, you probably knew my parents--they are healthy and active at 78 & 79 and still live in same house where I grew up. I'd love to hear from old friends who want to get in touch!

wow, what can you say, the web site has brought alot memories back, Time does fly by,Remember BIG BILL II, picking him up on my shoulder, taking him to all the games.It was a BLAST!!!! (Where are you at David Davies?) Have a brother & sister that also went to French, Greg & Beth Edwards, going to send the web site to them. After leaving French in 71 ,joined the US Navy, was on board the USS Constellation CVA 64 (Carrier). Married & have two great daughters. Now working at College of The Mainland, in Texas City. Comments: I had to move to Austin, Texas in 1971 but I grew up in Beaumont and I didn't want to leave. I went to Eugene Field, All Saints Episcopal School, Stephen F. Austin, and then spent the first half of my 9th grade year at French. I was a member of the NJROTC and I played football for French. I haven't forgotten my friends that I grew up with. I even remember my first crush on Genevieve Ryder. I bowed to the Buffalo so I will always be a Buffalo at heart.

Never told Scot I had a crush on him while I was writin him poems for (not tellin) who he liked. I still think about Pat, Paula, Kay, Diane..too many to name. Been workin as a 911/Police/Fire/EMS dispatcher for 18yrs or so and will keep doin it till I get it right. Have 2 daughters: Kimberly and Jessica and 2 granddaughters: Kelsey and Claudia. Last year I went to work part time for Continental Airlines and spend as much time as possible traveling with friends and family.

I have had jobs in real estate, court reporting, sales merchandising. I now enjoy being at home. I loved Mrs. Smallwood and learned a lot from her. I remember most about the purple falcon I droved to French. I was way ahead of my time.

Comments: I went on to Lamar University and graduated. Took a job locally with a civil engineering firm, but, could not stand being cooped up in an office all day. After a few years, I put the degree down and went to Mobil Oil where I have been for the past 21 years. Currently, I am a facilities supervisor and hope to retire within the next few years. Nancy works at Hardin-Jefferson High School as the registrar. We have two wonderful kids, Steven is 21 and Kim is 18. We were very lucky...never a minutes worth of trouble from either one. Both are on track for good careers and are Christians. We spend our spare time camping and fishing and when we aren't at the lake, I work in my woodshop and Nancy works in the flower beds! Boy, are we settled. We would love to hear from our classmates. Thanks, MaryBeth, for the website...great idea.

I took internet classes and am now a Radiation Therapist (I do not recommend Physics on-line!) My 3 sons live too far away in Boston and in N.D. They have finally begun to be fruitful and multiply: as of May, we're grandparents! It's just too bad that we have to work for a living!

Comments: I married a French High graduate of 1971, Phillip Darcy. He is still involved with motorcyles too. He has a performance shop and does work for all the national competators in dirt track and road race. He races for 18 years after he graduated and finally we had to give it up and move back to Texas. We had moved to Illinois to be closer to all the races. Old age set in and a baby came with it and we settled down in the Ft. Worth area. We just couldn't make ourselves move back to that humid climate! I am still friends with Sherry Walker and Colleen Ford and we visit and talk alot. They are both still in the Beaumont area. I am a travel agent and love my work. It has given us the opportunity to travel alot. We are now into scuba diving so we tend to hit the clear carribean water as much as possible. Our favorite dive destination to date is the island of Curacao. Colleen, Sherry, and a few more old time FHS graduates have gone on several girl trips to Cozumel. Phil and I have one son, now age 16. We had just commented on how they don't have an 11th street here to hang out at like we did. It was great and times were better than they are now for our kids. It would be great to hear from the class of 1973 since we were to lazy to have a 25th reunion!!!!

Comments: I regret losing touch with high school friends. It seems like we all just drifted apart. Graduated Lamar in 1974, degree in French, minor in Criminal Justice--what on earth was I thinking? In the real world, I'm an electrologist. In my spare time, I'm nature girl--camping, hiking, flat water kayaking and bird watching. Spent two weeks in Mexico as volunteer doing research on habitat of endangered wild cats. If you remember me, you probably knew my parents--they are healthy and active at 78 & 79 and still live in same house where I grew up. I'd love to hear from old friends who want to get in touch!
