During that time I worked in the oilfield as well as other vocations until I finally settled down. I have a daughter and son that make me realize just how time unfolds but life is good. My favorite teachers were Mrs. Davidson (english), Mrs. Frazier and Mr. Mullendor (D.E.). I see some of our classmates and have contacted/found a few others lately. Memories of F.H.S. are like fine wine--they get better with age. I would love to hear from any and all.

Comments: Lots of special memories at FHS!...a great school in a galaxy far away. I married Lee Corley (FHS '74) in 1980 after renewing our relationship as students at Lamar where we both earned two degrees each. We have two good kids and we've always been in Beaumont until our planned move to Friendswood in June '02. Mike Slay was and remains my best friend. Zulma Smith was my favorite teacher (though technically Mildred Yates, my 5th grade English teacher at Eugene Field Elem. would have edged her out if I had had her for any classes at FHS)...James Ruby, Travis Beard, and Guy Broussard were fine teachers worth noting; Jim Boone was a huge influence on me. I was proud to be "neath the pines so green..."

I moved when the place needed painting or the bill collectors found me. I have resided in Jasper, Beaumont (3 times), Rolling Meadows Il, Oklahoma City Ok, Deer Creek Ok, Edmond Ok, Richmond Va and finally (so far) Powhatan Va. Wife #2 and I have a nice place in the country. I saw some classmates over the years but with my 20+ years as field service engineer -that was limited. I have a daughter who with husband and son resides in Va. My son is in Vidor with the first spouse. I also have a step grand daughter who is in the Richmond area. Love to work in my flower gardens and yard. Wife #2 is real lady and is trying to teach me proper English. I have not forgotten nor can I express what the memories mean to me.

Comments: (updated June '07) I retired from ExxonMobil 7 days before my 50th birthday, left Beaumont for Lumberton and a much larger yard to mow! If I had only known retirement was so good I would have never worked in the first place! Two of my kids are grown and moved away with only one left at home. My son is flying all over the east coast with US Airways and is always wanting to know where I want to go (free airfare) ... I say "Lumberton". To which his reply is "the runway's way too short!" After being retired for 3 years and living in Southeast Texas for 53 years I am yearning to leave flatland and live on top of a mountain in the Smokey Mountains somewhere and become a hillbilly. Well, I have to cut this short, it's time for my 'power-nap' or time to check the water in the pool or something .... life's hectic these days! hahaha
Married, 3 ‘kids’ they are moving out slowly. John the oldest is in University of North Texas, I’m especially proud of him. I’ve invested a lot too.. $$$ Time Groceries, & Worry! I am still working as a supervisor in the production department of ExxonMobil after 25 years. Following in the path of those who travel before me, I have put on weight, had back surgery, did a triple by-pass, and enjoy arthritis on occasion Yep, falling apart and –out of warranty- Mike "Dr. Oz" Oszczakiewicz (Julie's little brother) did my surgery and STILL remembered the GREEN Chevy! Boy did that change the Dr/Patient climate. This site has been great, as I have heard from a lot of people who were on my ‘missing in action’ list. Would love to see many of you again, and one of you in particular (& no you don’t owe me money). Life has been very good to me! I wish you all well. Note: Those of you who knew my older brother Ronnie (changed to ‘Ron’ after gross income exceeded 1m *Grin*) passed away in India while visiting a friend just a few years ago at the age of 48. He went to French but graduated from Beaumont High.

The last time I signed in was 2001. It looks like there aren't many recent updates. Joey Watson and I married in 1975 and divorced in 2005, for the last time. I moved to Lewisville, Texas, near our son and daughter-in-law, who are expecting their first baby (a girl) in early March '06. I can't wait. I love it up here. I am a paralegal for a law firm in Denton, Texas and work for two of the nicest guys on the face of the earth. I would love to hear from you guys. Entry date: November 22, 2006 Nov.'06 Last sign in for me was 2001; a lot of time has passed since then. I am about to be a "NaNa" for the first time. IT'S A GIRL!! She should arrive in early March, but if she's anything like her daddy, she'll be her early. I moved to the North Dallas area a year ago and wish I had done it a lifetime ago. Change can be good, I have found. Would love to hear from someone. . . anyone!!!
I married Joey Watson in 1975. We have one son, Joel Forrest who will be 20 in June. We have been blessed with a bright and talented child that is wise beyond his years.(He gets that from me of course) Joey attended Lamar University on a baseball scholarship, graduated and is self employed. I have been working for an attorney here in Beaumont for the past six months. Prior to my curent job I was Director of Children's Ministry at a local Baptist church for sixteen year. What can I say, I know when it's time to move on. I still have my Belle boots and the nickels are still taped in them. By the way, they are the only part of that uniform that still fit, except for maybe the pompoms. What I remember most is the laughter of my friends. We don't see each other much these days, but on those rear occasions, the laughter is still there.

Comments: Oh, man!! I just got back from a very sad (funeral) trip to Beaumont and I should've known better than to act on the nostalgic feeling that came over me while I was visiting with my relatives. I drove around our old haunts one afternoon ... cried lke a baby. Beaumont's North End has definitely seen it's better days. But, as I drove past the old school, I had to pull over and, as I did, I was overwhelmed with some wonderful memories. Thank God no one can change what's in our hearts and minds. I am an executive board member for the Beaumont Interfaith Society and a founding member of the Symphony of South East Texas Chorus and Chorale. Still singing!!!
I remember Mrs. Davidson English 3-4 and Beowolf. My favorite teacher was Mrs. Ruth Truncale (choir). I really liked my senior year, I was voted WHO's WHO in music and was the choir president and in the Coraleers singing group. I see many friends from French High at Lumberton's football games. I had 2 daughters that graduated from there and one daughter who is a junior.

Comments: Retired from the Air Force after 21 years in 1994. I am currently working for the State of Texas as an investigator for the Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners in Austin. I was also a cop in the Air Force, so that makes about 25 years in law enforcement now. Some people might be surprised at my profession. I have two grown daughters and a three year old son. Missed my 20 year reunion I was in Panama at that time. Looking forward to the 30th though. Haven't seen or heard from anyone since 1973, so would love to hear from anyone.

Comments: I went on to Lamar University and graduated. Took a job locally with a civil engineering firm, but, could not stand being cooped up in an office all day. After a few years, I put the degree down and went to Mobil Oil where I have been for the past 21 years. Currently, I am a facilities supervisor and hope to retire within the next few years. Nancy works at Hardin-Jefferson High School as the registrar. We have two wonderful kids, Steven is 21 and Kim is 18. We were very lucky...never a minutes worth of trouble from either one. Both are on track for good careers and are Christians. We spend our spare time camping and fishing and when we aren't at the lake, I work in my woodshop and Nancy works in the flower beds! Boy, are we settled. We would love to hear from our classmates. Thanks, MaryBeth, for the website...great idea.

Andrew has worked for Mobil Oil for 26 years now and I have worked for Matrix Engineering for 8 1/2 years after staying at home with the kids for most of their lives. Wouldn't have had that any other way. Bryan will play his 2nd year of pro baseball this summer in Sioux Falls SD and will be getting married in Jan 2000. Rachel is in her first year at Lamar and says she is interested in doing something in marine biology. Most of what I remember about high school centers around Belles. One of the most memorable events was our donkey softball game and Gay Page being allergic to the donkeys!!!

Comments: My favorite teacher was Mrs. Sally Lanasa--\ I just loved her! And you said you remember Friday AM pep rallies. What I remember is SKIPPING Friday AM pep rallies and roaming the halls with my best friend, Gloria Carr!! It's the only time I ever skipped in my whole life! Have you thought about setting up a memorial page for classmates who have passed away? I know it could be a hard thing to do, but it could also be really helpful for those of us who might be looking for class mates. And if you could add us to your prayer list, that would be great. We are trying to adopt 3 of our foster children, and we are praying that things will go right for the adoption. If you think this would be a good thing to list, great. If you'd rather not, I undersand. Thanks for this website--I really appreciate all your work! Dru

I still remember the classes, teachers, principles, and walking the halls between classes carrying books. The fun times of football season, pep rallies, band practice, drill teams - school spirit was great. I am so glad to see so many other classmates signing the guestbook for all of us to be able to walk down memory lane. Continue the great job your doing Beth!!!

This was the class caught up in the 9th grade discontinuation at Austin Jr High and were split between Bowie and Beaumont High. I think a lot of classmates who had gone through all the years were lost. I have missed all the reunions but would love to know what some are doing.
